1. Scientific Approach for Tool Selection in High-Efficiency Machining toolpaths – February 16th – 8 AM CST/3 PM CET   

When it comes to tool selection for machining processes, production planners are spoiled. However, selecting the right tool for a specific application from a wide range of options is a challenging task and traditionally relies on tests and past experience. This webinar will present a methodology for virtually testing different tools for aerospace and similar applications. The approach helps users compare different tools based on chip flow, thermal and mechanical characteristics to select the best tool along with the right machining conditions.

2. Modeling Complex Machining Processes Through User-Defined Kinematics – February 17th – 8 AM CST/3 PM CET   

With the global shift in manufacturing, now is the time to use simulations effectively for reduced testing. Complex machining processes like power skiving, spin tool turning, bar peeling, etc. present a challenge when machinists try to understand and improve these processes. It is very difficult to measure forces experimentally in such processes and access to testing facilities is limited in today’s environment. In cases like bar peeling, it is difficult to have a visual of the material removal given the safety enclosures required to protect the operators. AdvantEdge simulation models chip removal, heat flow, and forces for such processes and can provide extremely valuable information to analyze, improve, and innovate. The webinar will present the user-defined kinematics feature and demonstrate the ability to model and analyze the power skiving process in AdvantEdge.

Machining process improvement for orthopedic implant manufacturing has become an increasing necessity due to growing demand worldwide. High incidence rates of osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and obesity, along with the rapidly aging global population, have fueled this growth of the orthopedic implants market. Making long-term commitments by adding capital equipment to address the growing production needs can strain the manufacturers’ financials in times of uncertainty. Machining process analysis provides an innovative approach to improve throughput and reduce production costs. In this webinar, Third Wave Systems will present the predictive engineering methodologies used by orthopedic implant manufacturers to increase throughput on existing CNC machines. Production Module Workshops

1. Production Module Workshop on Aerospace and Defense Applications – January 26th – 8 AM CST/3 PM CET   

Trial and error evaluation of tools and toolpaths can result in significant loss of machine time on the shop floor and, typically, leads to less than optimal outputs for the overall costs. This workshop will deep dive into use cases focused where Production Module will demonstrate methodologies to solve machining problems for the aerospace industry. The workshop will also include integration with CAM systems to reduce project setup time. Attendees will gain insight about engineering analysis capabilities that the software provides for identifying and correcting problems related to tool life, part quality, bending moment considerations among other applications.

2. Production Module Workshop for CAM Integration – February 23rd – 10 AM CST/5 PM CET   

The integration of Production Module with CAM systems like NX, CATIA, and Mastercam makes the toolpath analysis part of the production process. This workshop, targeted at new users, will highlight the importance of this integration to analyze toolpaths, identify problems, and fix them before they become an issue in production. Toolpath analysis using Production Module can be a vital tool in your toolkit to uncover and address problems to ensure a smooth production restart. The focus of this workshop is the integration between Production Module and NX CAM that helps our users in getting the first part right when production comes back online, reduces costs, and provides ROI with first implementations.

3. Production Module Workshop on Automotive Applications – March 23rd – 8 AM CDT/3 PM CET
