
FAQ - Node-locked License Installation Instuctions
- You must have “System Administrator” privileges to successfully install AdvantEdge FEM or Production Module.
- Uninstall any existing versions of AdvantEdge FEM orProduction Module using “Add/Remove Programs” in the Control Panel. Do not delete the \ThirdWaveSystems\AdvantEdge\ directory, as iit contains your license.
- Insert CD or download software from FTP link. CD should start automatically or double click on downloaded “setup.exe” icon to install. Follow prompts to install.
- Obtain your license by contacting your Third Wave Systems representative. In order to create a permanent license, Third Wave Support will require the host ID for the computer you plan on using. This host ID can be acquired by double-clicking on the hostid.bat file located in the C:\ThirdWaveSystems\AdvantEdge\license directory of your computer.
- Save license to the C:\ThirdWaveSystems\AdvantEdge\license directory on your computer. If your license is for Production Module, your installation is now complete. If your license includes AdvantEdge FEM, proceed to Steps 6 and 7.
- Once you have copied the new license to the license folder, try restarting the license service. To do this go to Start Menu > Programs > ThirdWaveSystems AdvantEdge > License Management > Start-Remove-Update License Service. When the dialog box opens click remove license services. Then browse for your license in the C:\ThirdWaveSystems\AdvantEdge\license directory and click start license services.
Note: This step can be skipped if you are using a demo license.
- Double click on “advantpost.exe” in C:\ThirdWaveSystems\AdvantEdge\advantpost\bin to check the license. If it is not functioning properly, the following message will appear:
