Third Wave Systems Announces Upcoming Software Release

MINNEAPOLIS –Third Wave Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce the upcoming release of AdvantEdge Production Module version 5.6 on May 4, 2009. Production Module is process-analysis CAE software that integrates workpiece material properties, CAD/CAM inputs, and machine dynamics to map forces, temperatures, and more. By displaying results visually, Production Module allows users to better understand the machining process to avoid potential problems and identify opportunities for improvements.
New and/or enhanced features to be included in AdvantEdge Production Module 5.6 are:
- Sub-sequence optimization for better control and analysis of long cut sequences
- Differential pitch tool geometry definition
- Variable helix/roughing end mill tool geometry definition
- Standard bar and tube stock workpiece definition
AdvantEdge Production Module was first introduced as a Third Wave Systems product in 2003; benefits include reduced cycle times, maximized machine utilization, and reduced tool breakage.
