Third Wave Systems is pleased to announce AdvantEdge v4.7, the latest release of our popular finite element based machining modeling software. Users of AdvantEdge v4.7 will realize a minimum 3X performance improvement over the previous version. Other new features include CAD file tool import (STEP file), and advanced drill modeling capabilities that include indexable drill modeling and drilling stack-up modeling. New milling capabilities include ramp, plunge, 5-axis, and pocket milling modeling, as well as face milling and full-slot cutting. Residual stress mesh depth adjustments (2D/3D) are now options, as is 3D tool wear modeling. A number of user-defined and custom material modeling options are available to provide more flexibility and openness in interaction with AdvantEdge software. Also new is a 300M steel material model.
"AdvantEdge v4.7 is a continuation of Third Wave’s ongoing commitment to improve product quality and capability,” remarked Kerry Marusich, company President and CEO. “The improvement in computational speed and addition of new process features and materials will help our customers accelerate and enhance their analysis for further cost savings in their machining operations.”
