SALES ENGINEER

A Third Wave Systems Sales Engineer’s responsibility is to grow software sales within our target markets: aerospace, automotive and cutting cool, as well as our new markets — medical and oil and gas. Candidates should have a strong desire and expertise to build relationships with key executives, department managers and technical users and help potential customers identify how computer-aided-engineering tools can help them improve metal cutting processes. Travel to customer facilities is expected. Candidates must be able to identify customer needs and communicate technical knowledge and terms to collaborate with internal Applications Engineers to translate customer requests into requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a suitable technical background in manufacturing; A MBA, dual degree or minor in business is a plus
  • Strong desire to uncover customer needs by asking questions and listening to understand problems
  • Basic knowledge or industrial experience with CAD/CAM technologies (NX, CATIA, VERICUT, etc.)
  • Background with manufacturing and machining processes and knowledge of metal cutting processes, familiarity with CNC programming, and understanding of finite element software is a plus
  • Motivation and drive to make continuous improvements and the ability to thrive without significant direct supervision
  • As many of Third Wave’s projects are export controlled, you must be a US citizen to apply.

APPLICATIONS ENGINEER – AdvantEdge

A Third Wave Systems Application Engineer, within the AdvantEdge product group, has the primary responsibility of applying computer-aided-engineering tools to metal cutting processes, working with international clientele to provide machining processes and quality improvements and deliver software systems support and training. Travel to customer facilities is expected. Candidates will also collaborate with internal Product Management, Development and Product Quality teams to translate customer requests and problems into internal requirements; provide technical assistance to the sales team where needed and provide feedback on product capabilities and new features.

  • Bachelors, Masters or Doctoral degree in Mechanical, Engineering with an emphasis on Finite Element Analysis theory and methodologies
  • Significant understanding of both fundamental and advanced concepts in statistics, dynamics and material science
  • Understanding of complex mathematical relationships related to finite element analysis and the ability to use this knowledge to accurately and effectively solve problems
  • Ability to troubleshoot customer problems
  • Ability to contribute and collaborate with academic institutions on new and upcoming research
  • Manufacturing experience (machining, assemble, forming, etc.) is desirable
  • Motivation to make continuous improvements and the ability to thrive without significant or direct supervision 

APPLICATIONS ENGINEER – Production Module

A Third Wave Systems Application Engineer, within the Production Module product group, has the primary responsibility of applying computer-aided-engineering tools to metal cutting processes, working with international clientele to provide machining processes and quality improvements and deliver software systems support and training. Travel to customer facilities is expected. Candidates will also collaborate with internal Product Management, Development and Product Quality teams to translate customer requests and problems into internal requirements; provide technical assistance to the sales team where needed and provide feedback on product capabilities and new features.

  • Bachelors, Masters or Doctoral degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
  • Coursework or industrial experience with CAD/CAM technologies (NX, CATIA, VERICUT, etc.)
  • Manufacturing experience (machining, assemble, forming, etc.) as well as experience using machine tools and with general fabrication
  • Knowledge of metal cutting processes, familiarity with CNC programming
  • Solid understanding of fundamental concepts in statics, dynamics and material science
  • Ability to troubleshoot customer problems
  • Motivation to make continuous improvements and the ability to thrive without significant or direct supervision

SUPPORT ENGINEER

A Third Wave Systems Support Engineer holds the primary responsibility of applying computer-aided-engineering tools to metal cutting processes, working with international clientele to provide machining processes and quality improvements and deliver software systems support and training. Travel to customer facilities is expected. Candidates will also collaborate with internal Product Management, Development and Product Quality teams to translate customer requests and problems into internal requirements; provide technical assistance to the sales team where needed and provide feedback on product capabilities and new features.

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • Coursework or industrial experience with CAD/CAM technologies (NX, CATIA, VERICUT, etc.)
  • Manufacturing experience (machining, assembly, forming, etc.) as well as experience using machine tools and with general fabrication
  • Knowledge of metal cutting processes, familiarity with CNC programming
  • Solid understanding of fundamental concepts in statics, dynamics, and material science
  • Interest in finite element analysis and the ability to use this knowledge to accurately and efficiently solve problems
  • Ability to troubleshoot customer problems with a wide range of possible sources including finite element setup and material constitutive modeling
  • Understanding of data acquisition and experimental procedures
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across the organization
