Board of Directors

In addition to the management team, Third Wave Systems has three outside board members who collectively bring more than 100 years of senior management, marketing and technical experience growing high-tech companies.

David Arnold

Mr. Arnold joined the board in late 2007. He is the former vice president and chief technical officer of Kennametal Inc., Latrobe, Pennsylvania. For 24 years, Mr. Arnold managed the activities of Kennametal’s world-class Technology Center and directed all global research and technology functions (development of new products, materials and applications; improvement of existing products and applications; and research and development of product manufacturing procedures and techniques.) He also directed all technological operations that support the corporation’s product manufacturing and sales operations. Before joining Kennametal, Mr. Arnold was in the materials and process technology laboratories, Aircraft Engine Group, General Electric Company, Evendale, Ohio. Prior to that, he was with Fansteel and DuPont, both in Baltimore, Maryland. He led the effort to have the Department of Defense establish the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining at Kennametal and served as its first Chairman of the Board. Mr. Arnold earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering at Virginia Tech.

Larry Matthews

Mr. Matthews has been a director since 1998 and brings over 40 years of experience in technology companies. Mr. Matthews was a co-founder and Vice President of Engineering of Zytec Corporation, a leading manufacturer of power supplies to the computer industry, and was instrumental in Zytec winning the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. He is currently a Director at Artesyn Technologies, a recently formed merger between Zytec and Computer Products Corporation. Prior to founding Zytec Corporation in 1983, Mr. Matthews spent 20 years at Control Data, where he held a variety of positions from Design Engineer to Vice President of Operations. He has been an advisor to the Company since 1993, and has a BS degree in Engineering. Mr. Matthews is also a partner in North St. Paul Industrial Ventures.  Mr. Matthews was Chairman and Co-Owner of Vendtronics (sold to Food Engineering Corporation) from 1994 to 1998. From 1963 to 1983 he had various positions at Control Data Corporation, including Vice President of Operations. Currently, Mr. Matthews is on the Board of Directors of Artesyn Technologies (merger of ZYTEC, of which he was a cofounder, and Computer Products), Crosswork, Inc., Third Wave Systems, Solar Attic and ECO Fuels.

Tom Glisczinski

Mr. Glisczinski has been a director since 1999 and brings more than 30 years of experience in sales and marketing of manufacturing software. He was the founder of Camax Manufacturing Technologies, a pioneering CAD/CAM provider and was also president of Manufacturing Data Systems. Mr. Glisczinski is currently president of Applied CIM Technologies, the largest mid-west distributor of Surfcam CAD/CAM software, as well as several other software products. He has a BS degree in Engineering and an MBA.
